The best under-23 and juniors in the world rankings are entered in the European Mountain Bike Championships, which will be held at the Tamengos track in Anadia, between Thursday and Sunday.
There are 234 participants from 25 European nations. But, more than the numbers, it is important to know the names, because those who occupy the top positions in their respective world rankings will be in Portugal.
In the under-23 men, six of the seven Europeans that occupy the top 10 of the Olympic Cross Country (XCO) World Cup are registered. Among them the top two in the ranking, Frenchman Adrian Boichis and Swiss Daio Lillo. Also entered were fourth, Luk Wiedmann (Switzerland), fifth, Tom Schellekens (Netherlands), seventh, Oliver Solvhoj (Denmark), and eighth, Andreas Emanuel Vittone (Italy).
Still in under-23, but in the female sector, Anadia will receive the three best in the XCO World Cup: Heby Sofie Pedersen (Denmark), Ronja Blöchlinger (Switzerland) and Ginia Caluori (Switzerland). But also the fifth, Noëlle Buri (Switzerland), the sixth, Noemie Garnier (France), the seventh, Sina van Thiel (Germany), and the eighth, Sara Cortinovis (Italy).
The same situation occurs in the juniors. In the men’s under-19 category, the first in the world ranking, Sivert Ekroll (Norway), the second, Mikkel Lose (Denmark), the seventh, Julien Hemon (France), the eighth, Leo Lounela (Sweden) and the tenth, Loris Hättenschwiler (Switzerland) will be present.
The entry list of women’s under-19s is also of great quality, including the top ranked Katrin Embacher (Austria), second ranked Natalia Grzegorzewska (Poland), third ranked Carla Hahn (Germany), fifth ranked Marta Cano (Spain), seventh ranked Anina Hutter (Switzerland), and eighth ranked Valentina Corvi.
